Your text and files
Text you type, paste or open in Kettle Tools tools is processed by your own browser. We do not upload, store or see your text or documents. Word files you open are read on your device, and Word or PDF files you create are generated on your device.
What is stored on your device
Your display settings (font, size, spacing, colours, ruler and speech speed) are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are ready next time. Your text is not saved. You can remove the settings at any time with Reset settings or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Read aloud
Read aloud uses your browser’s speech feature. Most voices run on your device. Some browsers offer online voices (for example, voices labelled “Google” or “Online”); if you choose one, your browser’s provider may process the text to create the audio, under its own privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
This site is free and may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required by law, you will be asked for consent before such cookies are used. Advertising never has access to the text you enter in Kettle Tools tools.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, including a beacon automatically added by Cloudflare Pages. It is cookieless and uses no client-side state for tracking or fingerprinting. It collects aggregate data such as page URL, referrer, country, browser and device type, and performance timings. The analytics beacon never receives the text you type or open in Kettle Tools tools: processing happens in your browser and the tools never send that text. The optional read-aloud feature has the separate voice-provider considerations described above.
Children
Kettle Tools tools can be used by students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Visual support photos and boards
Visual support photos are decoded locally and drawn on canvases on your device. The makers do not upload photos, labels or board settings. Photos are held only for the current page session and must be re-added after reloading. Board labels, symbol choices and settings are saved in this browser’s localStorage; Reset board replaces them with defaults. Clear site data in your browser to remove saved settings. Share links include non-photo board state in the URL hash; anyone receiving the link can read its labels. Exported PNGs contain any photos currently on the board, so share those files with care.
